My New Best Friends

Been a while between blogs... worked too many days in a row, adjusting to the "school" work schedule and, oh yeah I have new best friends. The trees. 29 in fact. A set design to kick off our series on Growing Wise. I don't have plants at home, or pets for that matter, because they require constant care and attention. But for several weeks I am the primary caretaker for these !@#$ trees.
The curious, surprising, interesting thing is that I'm beginning to almost like this ritual of slowing down for 30 minutes...
I've found myself talking to God, well more specifically I've been crying out to God that he can keep the leaves on the trees for the 5 weeks of the series if He wants... I'm still not a big fan... but I have a new appreciation for this whole gardening bit.

As long as you don't start talking to the trees and calling them by their nicknames, you're fine.

Just wondering what the plan for the trees is after the series is over (since I have full confidence in your ability to nurture them through this and still be alive...)

The trees in the sanctuary which are the centerpiece of our set design for Pastor Ron's series "Growing Wise" are for sale on a first come, first served basis for $50 each.

We will be lovingly caring for them throughout the sermon series and then they will be available to take home following the services October 5th and during the day October 6th. If you are interested in tagging a tree to take home, please contact janetfraser@sunsetpres.org.

That's the "press release" but alas... i don't think we'll keep them in leaves until the 5th of October. I'm hoping to get through the 21st at this point. If you want one, two or ten, let me know and you can pick them Sunday.
