The Incident

This morning as I was pulling away from dropping off Abby I was thinking about Molly learning to drive, and that she's ready and what a huge responsibility it is and then I ran over someones cat.
It was horrible.
I cried. Molly comforted me.
We didn't speak for miles.
I had no idea what to do.
I'm sick to my stomach reliving it... but I genuinely don't know what to do.
Do you stop? What should I have done?

Oh, I'm so sorry! I don't know what I would do in that situation... I'd like to think I would stop and see if the cat had a tag so I could contact the owner, but I can also see myself being too scared to look and not stopping.

I'm so sorry... :(

It is a weird feeling isnt it?

Because LIFE was involved it makes you think you should have done something...however I dont think there really wasnt anything you could do since someone wasnt with the cat at the time.

I am SO sorry!! That sucks!! It probably would have been nice to check if the cat had a tag to let the owners know. I had a cat die by a car and it was nice to know for sure. Although perhaps the owners might like knowing their pet wandered off to a greater adventure!

Many years ago I watched somebody ran over a dog (the dog didn't die, but yelping like crazy and ran away), I still remember the look on that guy's face SMILING as he drove away like it's a funny thing.

Hey, at least you felt bad about it and I think that counts.

With people being sue crazy nowadays I understand if you didn't stop for the cat, although I don't know if the car insurance covers for something like that.
