Living the Dream

I remember driving from Salem my first weeks in college and seeing the city of Portland at night, the lights, the water, the Hawthorne and other bridges, I pretty much fell in love.
At some point I decided that for at least a year, when the kids were "out" I wanted to live downtown, use mass transit, shop in the neighborhood etc.
In the meantime, we've spent alot of time in the city- even one spring break. The kids are really comfortable on the max and can find their way around.
So, when our friends Scott and Allie mentioned they were looking for house sitters, I JUMPED on it. This week we're housesitting in the Goose Hollow neighborhood of NW Portland. We're living in a condo, have a beautiful balcony, the max is just outside the front door- it's pretty awesome.

where do you dream of living for a year?

Any where. I think it would be fun to live with my dad in China for a year.
